The second day of the VIII international super tournament dedicated to the memory of the outstanding chess player, European champion, International Grandmaster Vugar Hashimov has ended in Baku.
In the first three days of the tournament, 10 chess players are competing at the rapid tournament, the memorial press service reports.
On the second game day, the parties of the next 3 rounds were held. In the fourth round, Rauf Mammadov drew with Valejo Pons, Shahriyar Mammadyarov with Richard Rapport and Abdulla Gadimbayli with Nodirbek Abdusattorov.
Aydin Suleymanli lost to Gukesh Dommaraju, and US representative Samuel Shankland lost to Chinese Wang Hao.
The only victory in the fifth round was won by R.Mammadov.
Our representative defeated Sam Shankland. A.Suleymanli and V.Pons, N.Abdusattarov and V.Hao, A.Qadimbeyli and R.Rapport, S.Mamedyarov and Gukesh D. agreed to draw.
In the last round of the day, N.Abdusattorov and A.Gadimbayli ended their party with a victory. N. Abdusattarov defeated S. Shankland and, our representative defeated Gukesh D. S.Mamedyarov with V.Pons, R.Mamedov with A.Suleymanli, W.Hao with R.Rapport agreed to draw.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov, whose score is 10 points, continues to lead in the standings. Rauf Mammadov is second with 9 points, Wang Hao is third with 8 points and Valejo Pons is fourth with 7 points. R.Rapport, A.Qadimbeyli and G.Dommaraju share 5th and 6th places with 8 points. S.Shenkland is ninth with 4 points, A.Suleymanli is the last with 2 points.
On December 20, the games of the next 3 rounds will be held.
