The second round’s games have started in ShamkirChess 2017 tournament dedicated to the memory of Vugar Hashimov. In second day of international tournament organized by "Synergy Group", Azerbaijani chess player Shariyar Mammadyarov drew with Russian representative Sergey Karjajkin. Our chess player expressed his views after game.

Having started the tournament with victory, Shariyar Mammadyarov explained his draw with  Sergey Karjakin:” Karjakin is a very strong chess player. Truly he is one of the favorites. If you look at the Statistics, our productive games were more than draws. But today it just didn’t happen. The advantage was not allowed from debut. Regular checks brought to draw. I must confess that we know each other very well. Therefore, it is very difficult to defeat your opponent.”

According to the press service of tournament, Shahriyar Mammadyarov said that all his attention is concentrated on his career now. Our representative wants to fight for world championship:” I want to fight for world championship. I directed my entire attention to my career. I want to achieve success by taking part in the contenders  tournament. Maybe in the future, i might consider working in other field. But I always want to stay in chess. It does not matter as a chess player or as a coach" .

Mammadyarov also said that he will watch  "Real"-"Barcelona" match which will be held in the Spanish La Liga. Chess player will support the "Barcelona".
