Teimour Radjabov

Born on March 12th, 1987, FIDE rating: 2756 (March 2019)

One of the strongest chess players of Azerbaijan twice qualified for the Candidates Tournament (in 2012 and 2013).

In Linares 2003, at the age of 15, he became the first player in seven years to beat Harry Kasparov with the black pieces, a feat no player repeated before Kasparov's retirement two years later.

He won three team gold medals (2009, 2013, 2017) at European Team Championships and won a bronze medal at the world championship of 2004. 

In the last Olympiad in Batumi, Radjabov  scored +6-0=4 and earned an individual bronze medal on board 2. 

In 2007 Radjabov shared the first place at the Category 19 Corus Chess Tournament in Wijk Aan. Radjabov competed in the FIDE Grand Prix 2017. In July, he won clear first in the Geneva round by scoring 6/9 points.

Radjabov is the two times winner of the European Chess Club Cup as a member of SOCAR Azerbaijan team.
