It is an honor to perform at “Vugar Gashimov Memorial-2022”.
Aydin Suleymanli, the world and two-time European junior champion, winner of the “Aeroflot Open 2020” tournament, member of the “Vugar Gashimov” club, who will participate in the “Vugar Gashimov Memorial-2022”, announced these words in an interview with the press service of the tournament.
He declared that elite chess players will compete in the tournament: “Vugar Gashimov Memorial-2022” is the biggest and indoor tournament that I will play so far. It will not be as easy for me to play in this tournament where world-class chess players are competing. The main goal is to show a nice game and present myself in the best light. Most importantly, I want to enjoy every second I play in the tournament.”
It should be noted that in 2021, A. Suleymanli won the bronze medal in the inter-club European Cup as a member of the “Vugar Gashimov” club. In 2019, the grandmaster won the World Chess Olympiad among under-16 chess players in Chorum, Turkey, as a part of the national team.
The competition will be held by the organization of Vugar Gashimov Chess Foundation, the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan, and the sponsorship of SOCAR, from the 17 th till the 24 th December, in “Fairmont Baku” hotel.
