The games of fifth round of “Shamkir Chess 2019” Super-tournament in the memory of Vugar Hashimov are being held. The Azerbaijani grandmaster, Shahriyar Mammadyarov played a draw with black pieces against the World Champion Magnus Carlsen.  Grandmasters have attended in the press conference after the part. The Azerbaijani grandmaster stated that he was satisfied with his game in the fifth round: “We watched the principal position in the game. It was very crucial to count the moves and being attentive. My opponent played very carefully. Therefore, playing for the triumph was impossible. The dominance was not apparent, there would not be any perspective. Generally, I am not satisfied with my result, but game. I should not have lost the game against Vishwanatan Anand. I could not keep the dominance in the game against David Navara. I hope that results will be better after the rest day”.

The World Champion Magnus Carlsen admitted that he did not satisfied with the result. He emphasized that the game did not finish as he wanted: “I achieved the draw. However, I am not satisfied with the quality of the game. I climbed to the top after subsequent winnings in Shamkir, however, I do not play stable. I should work on my blunders”.

We should note that tomorrow is the free day in “Shamkir Chess 2019” tournament.
