The football tournament was held between the participants and organizers of the ShamkirChess 2018 Super Tournament in the memory of Vugar Hashimov. The Press Service of the Tournament reports that, four teams have competed in the competition held in the Shamkir Olympic Sport Complex. Two new collectives performed in the tournament which formed out of the organizers of the ShamkirChess 2018 Super Tournament, besides teams consist of the Azerbaijani and foreign chess players. In the final game of the tournament, the Azerbaijani team met the “World Team” consist of foreign players itself. The decisive round having a lot of memorable moments was ended up with the victory of the “World Team” with 2-1 score. It is interesting that, all goals of the “World Team” in the tournament were scored by Magnus Carlsen. Overall, with six goals, the Norwegian grand master was the bombardier of the game.

In the end, the winner team was awarded with the cup.
