The World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen formalized his next draw in the ShamkirChess 2018 Super Tournament. The Norwegian grand master shared a score with the Azerbaijani grand master Teimur Radjabov. Magnus Carlsen has answered to the questions of journalists after the party.


- What is the reason of not coming to the press conference yesterday?

- In frankly speaking, I was really tired. Our game with Rauf Mammadov ended too late. The press conferences last a lot. Additionally, if there are some questions, it takes too much time. At the same time, I did not satisfy with the result. Sometimes, you simply do not want to come in front of the media after this kind of party. I was thinking the upcoming game against my next opponent immediately.


- The draw with the Azerbaijani grand master Teimur Radjabov was your successive fourth draw in the ShamkirChess 2018 Super Tournament. How can you explain the draw with such an amount?

- I never like the draws. However, it happened inevitably. The moves were repeated in the game against Teimur. Therefore, the equality was recorded. I am not that kind of grand master who adjusts this type of result.


- Did you get really angry about the draw with Rauf Mammadov?

- I really was disappointed about the result of the second round more than Mammadov. I had a chance to win David Navara in the game. I skipped that chance. I was really upset. I really regret much for the draw of the game with David Navara. I wanted to win as well as Rauf.


- The fourth round is already in behind. You have already played against all Azerbaijani players. They perform very carefully. It is very interesting that, you have played with black pieces against all of them.

- Certainly, it is interesting. I have played with black pieces against all of them. They really play very attentively. Therefore, it is somehow impossible to beat them. It seems to me that, local players have some solidity in Shamkir. I cannot play against them how I want to play.


- You have come to Shamkir with your personal cook. It means, do not you like the food provided here?

- First of all, I should appreciate the organization highly here. It is already my third visit to Shamkir. I have always seen a great attention to me in here. The provided food is very delicious. Simply, my cook knows better what kind of food and beverage I like. Sometimes, he prepares special sugar-free drinks. I do not keep diet. However, I do not consume drinks with sugar. My cook prepares what I want in a split of time.
