First round meetings are continuing in ShamkirChess2017 tournament. Russian representative Sergey Karjakin drew with Indian Pentala Harikrishna in report tour. After the game ,chess players took part in the press conference. 

Sergey Karjakin evaluated a draw as a normal result with white pieces. “After  debut I did not get advantage. I was in search. But Harikrishna played very carefully. We fought more than 4 hours. The game was in equal level.  The score was according to the result.I would have liked to win in the first round,but it didn’t happen.

India representative Pentala Harrison said that there was not a weak opponent in Shamkir tournament:” Draw is a normal result, in my opinion there will be many draw in Shamkir. Karjakin didn’t gain advantage from debut that is why he used different variants. It's not easy to resist him with black figures. The main fight is ahead. That is why it is already necessary to think about the next opponent.
